Last Sunday (14th december) me, my wife and my boys went to Recogne, a small town in the Ardennes, it's about 1km away from the town of Foy, about 2.5km away from Bois Jacques and about 5km away from Bastogne (for those of you who've watched "Band of Brothers", I'm sure these names will ring a bell ...). Every year around the 16th of December they have a whole weekend of historic walks, parades, ceremonies, and re-enactments over there.
When we left home that Sunday morning, it looked like it was going to be a dark and foggy day, but once we passed the city of Luik (Liege) the skies opened up. And it got even better, about 20 minutes away from Bastogne, the landscape even turned white, which was a big surprise, since we had not seen any snow this year where I live. Sunny weather, snowy scenery ... I was really looking forward to this
.
So here are some of my pics, I will post them in black and white first (made them a bit gritty to make them look "old"), maybe later I'll post them in color also.
