That pocketclip is only attached to the scale, right? Not to the liner? So if you bump against something or snag the SAK on something you might pull the scale off along with the pocketclip.

Being somewhat addicted to three layer 111mm's; I have taken to merely carrying my OHT NS low down in my pocket.

SAK's have to be hidden here; and I tried using a sheath but that added too much physical size to the SAK. The SAK by itself sits nicely and unnoticeable underneath a wallet in shorts or jeans, in particular. Yes, it means they get a bit dirty from bits and pieces, but I have the 111mm as a workhorse... it's meant to be thrashed as needed :)

Not the most useful reply, I know...! :/

The clip is just attached to the scale so in theory you could pull the scale off with a snag.  In practice though it's pretty secure.  I've hooked it on countless things since I installed it in August and it's been fine.  Last week it was in my pocket and got some good use while I pulled the engine out of my pickup.  Rolling around on the garage floor and leaning over fenders didn't hurt it at all.  Neither did a little motor oil.  I figure if the scale comes off I'll just glue it on with a little epoxy.

This is a picture I took more than a year ago, I did not have immediate access to a belt sander to finish the edges and make it smaller along the perimeter but here is my kydex/leather set up. Have carried my Trekker like this for 3 years...the original one I had was all kydex and broke after 2 years from design flaws. This one should last a mite longer.

I always wear a belt. The 111mm SAKs get carried in a sheath. Whatever this is - nylon, leather etc etc. If the knife fit in, it´s ok.

I also keep a Vic Atlas in my EDC bag. But just for the bigger blade and the metric screwdrivers. The LM Rebar rides shotgun on the MOLLE-Loops of that bag.

So I just noticed this on Metros site.

"Main Pocket: (2″ wide, 4.5″ tall, 1″ thick) LM Surge/ST300/OHT, Gerber BLUNT NOSE MP600, Victorinox 111mm knives (OHT), Multitasker Series 2."

Talking about the XL Shield.

Something that can carry a Surge/ST300 and 111 SAKs. Like I needed another reason to get one.

The XL is to big for the only knife you actually carry, AKA the Trail Guide.  :pok:

Well unless we count Alox's on neckers.

Now we are talking. Maybe a LC 9 or a Bond Arms Derringer in a 2XL or Mondo sheath. Hide in plain site.

I've pocket carried a 111mm (Rucksack or Hunter) for more than 20 years without a problem. Makes me strange I guess. Stranger yet, my current EDC is a 130mm Ranger 56 and I pocket carry it as well. The only time it bothers me is if it gets crosswise in the bottom of the lower pockets on my cargo pants.

I use an Outdoor Edge belt sheath.

Surprising good for the price, but sadly I think the ideal size for the 111 mm knives is discontinued.

The only Outdoor Edge product I have so far is the Wedge. Excellent little knife. A lot of their other products seem good value, but aren't necessarily of relevance to me in many cases. Definitely a company to watch for future IMO
