This old classic recently landed in my mailbox.
Its a KJ mora. The old type with a wider, thicker blade with the tang riveted at the top. The blade also has a 90 degree spine. The sheath has the leather belt loop. The edge is also in good shape with some minor nicks.

Wow!!! That's an exceptional example!!!!   Congrats!!!

Im quite happy with it. :)
I have a feeling that the sheath is not the original sheath for the knife. The sheath seems older and more worn than the knife.

I think this will become a user. The "full" tang, thicker blade and 90 degree spine make it an ideal bushcrafting knife.

Watched the videos of the knife and it looks like what many have been asking for, full tang Mora option.  I did wonder why there is no lanyard hole.  The sheath in neat but I'd like to see more about mounting it rather than talking about it.  I'd have liked to see more of the leather sheath offered as well.

I'm not quite sure what more this knife offers over what they've been offering .  I get that its a full tang offering but we've not heard of many complaining about Moras in general.

I'm certainly no knife designer but seems they've left some ideas on the table.  Time will tell what else they have coming related to this knife ( variations ).

I think there will be more sheath options  and probably some variations on the knife in the future. I guess the sales numbers will dictate that. The bushcraft black was a big hit. Time will show if the Garberg will be too.
Also, I havent heard of many broken bushcraft blacks either. So one can question the need for the Garberg. But they will finally have a top end "semi tactical" knife in their lineup. This way they will have a knife for every segment of the market: cheap 511 and 546 and PRO's for the low end, the Mora 2000, bushcraft and classics for the outdoor entusiasts and the ones wanting a little more than the cheapos. And on top they have the Garberg for the hunters, conessieurs, knife nuts, mall ninjas and military professionals.

On another note, I wont be surprised if Mora try to snatch back the pilot survival knife contract from the Swedish Air Force with the Garberg.

As much as I want a Pioneer X, if I'm spending that kind of money I think I would rather spend some more and get the Garberg.

Sorry if it was already mentioned and I missed it, but what are we figuring they'll end up costing about?

I believe the Pioneer X is US$50 and the Garberg is US$100 and US$110 depending on the sheath option.

I guess that's no too bad considering that they're quality pieces. Doubt I'll get the X, but the Garberg looks pretty cool to me.

At nearly £78 plus shipping etc. that's too rich for my blood.  I'd have to think twice at even half that price.
