1st pic!

(Image removed from quote.)

Looks unused, like it just sat in a drawer for 20 years. Still has the factory edge. Couple of surface spots from sheath contact.

Excellent.  :tu:  :gimme:

Those knives certainly represent an extraordinary value.

Thanks for posting gentlemen.

BTW, I noticed that the Mora 546Gs (green) are gone off ebay and the 510s (from US dealers) are more scarce as well. A quick check on the Morakniv website shows that both are not in the current line so I have a few of those are coming too.

The reg blue 546 (probably the 511 too) is being replaced by a Pro Line version with a two color (dual density?) handle. I like the old organic theme handle (true to the orig KJ Eriksson line) much better.

If you go back to the beginning of this thread you can see some pics and opinions on the new line.
The two tone handeled ones are dual density, while the single tone ones are just plastic.
The new ones have beefier blades too.

Thank you! That's good to know that they are returning to beefier blades. They have been "trimming" them down for years! :tu:

Dates moving down: 2013, 1990's and 60's-70's.

The recent Morakniv 510 top and a vintage KJ Eriksson 545 (SS version of the older 510) bottom.

I'll go back and look at the reviews. I didn't mean to insinuate that the new ones were inferior, just prefer the older aesthetics. I do wish Mora would have kept more of the Classic (birch handle) laminated line.

Wow, yes! Those look like excellent knives!!!! They are now on my want list! Unfortunately, I know I will pine away for the discontinued ones if I don't stock up now while they are cheap. Remember the Morakniv 510s on ebay for almost $50 prior to their re-release?

Well, as you know, We've had a ton of rain this spring and I just got my Mora collection out and there were a few tiny rust spots on a couple of the carbon models...never had this problem before.

Time to start getting all my fixed and traditionals out and look them over...guns too.   :(

Anyone have any of the 731 (carbon)/748 (stainless) Moras. They have 5.9 inch blades.

I have a couple of the 731's and they are marvelous big working knives....used one to carve the turkey last Thanksgiving and the ham at Christmas.

Here is the size compared to a Mora Classic Lam #2....

And next to my Frosts Laminated Hunter...

The 731/748 are a lot of knife for under $20.00 ea.

As promised.

Always loved watching the Ray Mears programs on youtube and several years ago I saw one called Ray Mears' Bushcraft - "Jungle Camp". Great show and Ray was using a different knife than that wonderful custom he usually carried. This one had a lovely green handle, was very sharp and Ray used it with precision So I thought, hey this is a neat little bushcraft knife......I was totally smitten. It was this knife (along with Cody Lundin's Classic Mora) that really got me interested in Moras again.

Some screen shots:

Well, it was discontinued and I never could find that exact model, till last week, one popped up on the bay in super shape for $8.00!!! :ahhh

Nearly broke my finger hitting the buy button!  :D  Not really rare, but vintage and one scratched off my "find" list. Love it!!!  :)   Comfortable handle and light use...don't think it's been sharpened. The sheath looks like it's had some carry as the flexy part is slightly bent forward (with a little crack) like it was worn sitting down a lot..I'll get a leather sheath for it anyway.

Oh and this one came in today as well.....(still dusty from the packing) what a bulldog!

So it was a Woo Hoo Wednesday!   :woohoo:

Hope the post was worth the wait!

Forgot the program link.....

Thank you Grathr and do you remember roughly what year you remember this Frosts from? I have no idea as to it's age.

That Bushcraft Black may be the one that goes into the BOB/Wildfire/Bad Weather Bags...it seems to have a lot going for it.
