Looks like I am the exception to the rule. I was never interested in scouting.
I'm a Queen's Venturer. It's even on my CV. When my tiny mountain forest town had its Scouting Renaissance, my Dad wound up as our Venturer (and later Rover) leader. We learned some badass wilderness skills, you guys.

I also spent time in northern Ontario planting trees and such, dealing with bears, portages and extreme weather, it's the kind of work that scares many interviewers. Good, my hiring rate was great. I'm self-employed now so there's no one to impress but myself.
