Speaking of amazing archery, this next pic is also amazing. It's part of an ad campaign in Spain, I think.

Comments?...

Yeah, his index finger is locked over the arrow at the rest....poor technique.

Nope... The bow it's upside down, the rest is below the hand...

I guess the only thing right is the arrow with the point facing forward. Everything else is SOOO wrong...

Oh, I see, that's an Australian model. No wonder!  How did I miss that!

not like he could shoot anything any way what with the limbs assembled facing backwards.
Recurve limbs are supposed to face the other way, no limbs flex at just the ends like that.  >:D

Mabey that's why he's pulling the string tight between his pinky and ring fingers while holding the whole fletching in his hand. It would fall apart otherwise.

funny since the saying seems to translate to something about "setting your sights on a goal, strive and succeeded" or so my interpretation of a crappy literal word for word translator implies.
Maybe they should say "if you cant do it right just fake it" instead.

When the Queen visits Scotland it's these chaps who keep her safe.

I'd also recommend this by Robert Hardy: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Longbow-A-Social-Military-History/dp/1852604123

That one I have read.

Thank you!!

I have "The Crooked Stick" by Hugh D.H. Soar but haven't read it yet. My RA is getting so bad that I doubt I can ever pull a bowstring again.  :(

I always thought that he intentionally passed it right over the gas flowing in the flame bowl....that ignited the torch.

Of course it was, failure was not an option. I have read an article in regards to that shot back in the early 90s stating that the archer practiced that shot until he could do it in his sleep.
