BTW, great thread.  I really enjoy your reviews and seeing the tools we love in action.  This is a fun forum with a lot of great guys giving input.  Even the "disagreements" are fun.

As long as it doesn't get the C-4 treatment ;)

Actually it would be interesting to hear the scissors vs butter blade thoughts, especially since the Spirit doesn't have the best wire cutters and scissors can be used in conjunction to cover that downfall

if anyone else is wondering (like I was) what sheetrock is, it's plasterboard.

I'd never heard of sheetrock but have quite a few sheets of plasterboard currently sat in my house.

I'm guessing that's probably a US thing, or it might just be me being a numpty.

If anyone else is wondering (like I was) what numpty is, it's a fool.

I have never heard of numpty but have met quite a few fools (don't have one at my house though)

Apparently, that's a word far up in Scottland :D, oder vellecht ben i eifach vo gescht.

You clearly do NOT get the US version HGTV.  Sheetrocking is a good 15 minutes of every hour long program. ;)

Spirit s vs spirit aka butter knife vs scissors.

I have both
 thanks victorinox

I got the Spirit s first about 4 or 5 years ago
I've had the regular spirit a few months now.

Ok the butter knife.
I use it for things that the plane edge blade would have a hard time cutting or can't cut at all. I'm a fan of serrated blades and victorinox got this one right. It's odd looking blade is very non threating.  Even in black. I've used it many time in front of non knife people and never got a second look. I also really like how the did the serrated and plane edge grind kinda backwards from everyone else with its serrated tip and plane edge base. It works well and is easy to maintain.

Scissors
I'm very sorry to say thy are not very good
The cut good if your cutting very small thin stuff .
They don't open very far. The scissors on a  swisstool or a sak are way better.  I don't know why they used these besides I imagine there very durable and don't have a spring to lose or break.

I take the s to work and carry the standard often after.

Both are great but the S is a better worker.

Ok
One more thought.

That new standard spirit is so shiny and good looking I haven't bought myself to really use and abuse it yet.

Well there certainly are better scissors on the market that could complement an MT without scissors
