A big hello
on: February 09, 2015, 01:50:20 AM
Hello everyone, I recently came across the forums here while surfing around the web looking for information/pricing on the Lm Mut and hopefully somewhere I could find a used one for sale......great!! There's a classified section here also......oh I can see getting in a lot of trouble with the bookkeeper (wife) now that I'll have to split my classified surfing between here and the fishing forums I belong to
I've carried a Wave(my original) on me almost everyday since 99/2000 and outside of my fishing gear this thing has been my most valued bit of kit I've ever owened. Never really had much reason to replace it, even though its come loose over the years I've always just tightened it up with vise grips cause I could never find the 5 pointed safety torx bit anywhere.
Well recently one of the apprentices at work has really become enamored with how many times in the course of a day i use my Lm and for all the different things I can use it on. So he's been shopping around and finally decided on the Surge....of coarse all of his enthusiasm has spilled over to me and now I find myself looking for reasons (not hard to come up with) to get another for myself and maybe pass on my old Wave to my son........at some point.
Look forward to putting to use the information tbat I have already come across here regarding some alterations that can be made to the mut.......if the wife lets me buy one.

 Cheers everyone

Welcome aboard! Their are plenty of tools to choose from. Just for the sake of shaking things up look into the Victorinox Swisstool and Swisstool Spirit.

Welcome  :tu:

I'd warn you about the financial impact of hanging around here, but I think you are already aware of the danger  :D

Welcome to the forums. The MUT is a great tool, and although two of the tools are specific to the AR platform of weapons, with a little imagination, you can use them for all sort of unintended purposes.
A little Leatherman information.

Not surprised to see the Wave has been so relied upon, it continues to be one of my favorites as well.  Good luck on getting the "bookkeeper" to release some funds for the MUT you have your eye on  :tu:

Thanks for the warm welcome gents  :tu: Hope I will be able to contribute here.....I can tell that I will definitely be able to gain a lot of helpful knowledge, that's for sure.

NKlamerus,  l flyfish for salmon and steelhead. ....everywhere I get a chance. My avatar pic was a nice silver hen I got on a local Great Lakes river and the attached pic is a Atlantic salmon out in Nova Scotia. Im actually just putting this one in here to see if I can get pictures to upload.

 Cheers boys

Looks AWESOME. I've got some family in  Wisconsin and I eventually plan to spend a spend a summer up there and fish for everything florida doesn't have.

Trout, Steelies, Smallmouth, even crappie muskie and pike.

We definetly have larger largemouth than anywhere else in the country (other than southern California...florida strain bass+year round trout to feed on=next world record)

But I can't wait to fly fish up there.

I fly fish as well but it's pretty much salsmurfer exclusively, imagine a tarpon on a fly rod. It's like trying to lead a horse with paracord tied to its ankle. Not much finesse whatsoever
