I was only there for a few hours but in that time we had a shooting competition - well done 50ft who was kinda shooting blind but won, I saw some great Syph and Hiraethus mods, some great modding from the attendees (including a sister for my Woodsman from Gareth) some beautiful hand-made knives, and most importantly, got to meet some excellent people.

Thanks Tofty for the MOT bits and pieces (the spanner is on my key ring, the big belt one is now my tactical coaster in my office, my daughter has nabbed the chip, and the dangler is being used as a... well, a dangler.

Cheers for having me and see you next year!

Back home, sun burned to hell and knackered.

Good to see the guys again and to meet the new chaps.

The result of the shooting may have been a bit different from what you remember Luke.

A pretty impressive comeback from last years result where I came last. I'm more convinced than ever that you couldn't hit a barn from the inside with that rifle, sorry Peter.

In a case of what could possibly go wrong?

This on the fire at 0330 seemed like a good idea at the time. I gave up waiting for it to set fire to the ground at 0430 and 50ft, being the sensible one stayed up and made sure that didn't happen. 0800 it looked like this

Back home and totally knackered after only getting less than 2 hours sleep wrapped in a non-waterproof poncho on the ground in the rain.  Gareth has set off on the rest of his jaunt way way North. Thanks for a great weekend fellers. Will check back in later when I've had some kip.

MTo Meet Ups. Just like being on the forum, just in real life!

A big thank you to Tony for all the organising he does,to Peter for the MTo goodies,to Chris and Luke for braving their first Meet,to Gareth and Al for demonstrating outdoor sleeping techniques,to Tom for the cheese and giving me a lift in his Land Rover(),to Mark for not rubbing it too much when I doughnutted.

Roll on next year!

Right, now the boy's in bed I've had a chance to catch up with thoughts about the meet.

As said, great to meet the guys - and sorry I missed you magentus.  Fantastic to get chance to get my hands on so many cool toys - Surge*, Pulse, Flair, Mini, PST, PST II, MP600, MP426 (50ft's knifeless MP400), PUG (Kirky's knifeless Wave), lots of lovely folders (too many to remember but Smashie's Fantoni, Sparky's refurbed brass and stag car boot find, some Liong Mah models and a few different Spydercos spring to mind), a pair of Syph customs (91mm and 93mm), lots of torches, an air pistol (I didn't really have time to do much shooting).  Thanks to Tofty and Smashie for their very generous gifts too.

And always great to talk smurf about multis with others. :drink: :D

* I'd asked someone to bring a Surge as I've been hankering after one for a while.  I had a little accident in a gear shop on the way down and brought my own. :D

Another great turn out and event.  Thanks all for sharing the pics with us.

It wouldn't be completely silly to do both!

Fubar throwing, because why not?

Fantastic shots Tom. :tu:  Tony's throwing target was a big success IMO.  I certainly spent enough time at it to put a little strain on my arm muscles.  Though I suspect it was lobbing that Fubar that finished me off. :D
