Many thanks to zoidberg for instructing and supplying the phillips.   :drink:

Taking out the plier rest by jamming a flathead in and wiggling until it snaps off:

Unscrewing the pivot. Note screwdriver under my left hand:

Fitting the pieces in after working out what washers were required to obtain the correct thickness:

A dab of Loctite in the pivot thread:

Screwing the pivot back in:

The phillips in place (where the bit driver used to be):

Do not like the bit driver or only need Phillips and flathead drivers for 99 percent of your work?

I use phillips more than flathead and prefer dedicated phillips to the phillips bit.
Using the Removable Bit Driver on the phillips still gives me a bit driver option.

Forgot about the removable driver thingy.

So all you had to do was remove the bit driver and the rest thing?

Would be the same for a Wave too right?

Pretty much - break off the plier rest (the pliers rest on the phillips now), remove the bit driver, add washer to make up thickness.

Would be the same for a Wave too right?

I don't know for sure but I would imagine so.

Thanks for sharing  :tu:

The lesson I have learned is how useful the flat handled bit holder is  :gimme:

Zoidberg, is that the phillips from my old Rebar?  :D
EDC and OCD. A wicked mix.

Nar, it's from my ST300. Rebar phillips doesn't work so good in a Surge.  ;)

Yes please. :salute:  Or just dump them in my MTO Gallery folder if you have the power to? I can sort them from there.

I'm sure this will happen to all my old Photobucket pics one day (again) too.

loving that mod, I just love the 3d Philips with extended reach. More often that is more important than having the exchanger. If it took full 1/4 inch bits it would be a whole other story.

Cheers,
H.G.

Extended reach for the win!

I am interested in this for some of the even more feature limited tools like the Skeletool or Freestyle.
