does anybody other than me like serrateds here :o.

I like them, but not on my main blade or as a combination.  I prefer a serrated blade as a secondary to a plain edge.

I like to have both.  Serrations definitely have a place IMO.

I HATE serrations!

There are times when it's useful, like on a woody plant fine edge tend to slide off whereas serrated edge would bite right in.

My thoughts exactly. I prefer a plain edge for my primary blade. I don't like combo blades, but I do like a fully serated blade for some uses and I find it handy as a back up blade.

Exactly!

Cutting flexible, tough, woody vines in my backyard proved this to my satisfaction.

My sharpest plain edge knives will skate over the surface of the vines before they'll bite.  Even a brand new blade in my razor blade utility knife will skate.

But serrated edges bite easily wherever they strike the vine and at whatever angle they hit.

The half-serrated blade of my Buck X-Tract works better for lopping off woody vines than a plain edge, hawksbill, pruning knife, which came as a big suprise to me.

 ;)

but theres also good non serrated blades ou there that i like, but those are almost all made from carbon steel, they do grip and cut far more better that ie ...some 44o stainöess, cause if i u compare microscope pics of sharpened edges, youll see that carbon acually does have always very small serration,no matter how much u work on it :D
