Thats gonna need stiches
on: February 18, 2015, 08:54:42 AM
Hello I am a long time multi-tool user, and my given name is Joshua.
My username is Tulku on most forums -(on ebay my user ID is TulkuTwin)

Please allow me to indulge in a little back story as to how I found my way here:

About 22 years ago I had a serious falling out with my favorite victorinox (a beautiful white handled swiss champ) after the blade closed on my fingers, for the last time. I had carried a SAK of one make or another since I acquired my first one (shortly after I joined the cub scouts) when I was 7. Well, I finally managed to cut myself so deeply with it that I stopped using this type of tool altogether and I gave them away. I felt the loss, significantly. I guess it was about a year or so later, when a friend gifted me an original Leatherman tool. It didn't have any locking blades, but the handle kept them from closing (completely) and I found my inner MacGyver renewed! My next purchase was the LM Supertool and I haven't looked back since.

I am now a father of two brilliant children and husband to a very understanding wife (she is, most of the time) I've also managed to acquire a large and archaic skill set that would make me something of a wizard - if I were transported back in time 3 or 4 hundred years...

Anyway, I'm rarely content to leave things as they are, when I can see room for improvements - so very recently I started thinking about swapping Rebar pliers into my Wave tool and I wondered if anyone had done a write up for this. After a quick search on the inter-webs, ah well, here I am.

Looks like I am in good company too!

Greetings and Welcome,

Being the Swisschamp aficionado I am I'm sorry to hear that you no longer have yours.  I have had maybe one close call with mine but nothing to make me abandon it.  The Wave is another favorite tho I've yet to add Rebar plier head.

Have fun looking at all the amazing mods done here.

Welcome Bud

What others said about the mad house isn't necissarily true.

It's more like a mad warehouse with bins of parts everywhere.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

You do have to watch these SAK's...
Treat them with respect, and they'll reward you.
