Just a standard 8-10oz. false for the beverage of your choice? Check your local grocery store, walmart or liquor store.

I'd get a Nalgene Flask. But that may be my brand loyalty speaking.

By hip flask, do you mean a small flask for whisky or other spirits?

If so, I have heard good things about the Stanley Hip Flask. A buddy has one, and he loves it.

Yep, for whisky (mostly). I have seen a Stanley set with shot glasses and something else but I just want a flask.

You can get the flask separately on ebay and probably amazon too

Can't get much better than this character right here...

Edit: the link won't work because of a certain word being replaced with smurf. Just replace smurfin with a word beginning with F.

You shouldnt leave it too long in the flask, silver starts to go black, ive never left it in long as usually drink it buy thatvtime but ive read the whisky goes flat in 3-4 days,i usually pour it in on the day i use it,ie going on a hike or fishing trip, :tu:

I have a couple that haven't been used for a looooong time. What's the best way of giving these a deep clean before using them again?

Milton/baby bottle sterilising tabs or a weak bleach solution and plenty of rinsing.

Hey Zed, really like that tartan one bottom right. Is there an inscription on the leather badge? any chance you might be persuaded to part with it?

This thread brings up a question I've always had about flasks. Here in the states aren't you immediately breaking the law as soon as you leave your property with an open container? I know most of us use flasks in the back country where it's not a problem. But there is still the issue of transporting it to your end location. Can we get some people from the states and other countries to weigh in on this?

in Texas we transport open containers in the trunk or back of the pickup in a cooler. State Trooper said that was the best way to avoid trouble. If youre in a van, suburban i wouldn't do it.

also snowpeak makes some fine Ti flasks... >:D
