I sent it back to Leatherman with a short note mentioning "sentimental value". I got it back about three weeks later and much to my surprise, my old PST was repaired, polished up and looking as good as new. Seems like someone at Leatherman cares.Dave
Thats great you got your PST back, cause I know not all companies do this. Like Case with their knives. If you have an old discontinued knife, they will attempt to fix it, but if they can't they will send a current model about the same as the knife sent in. They said too that if you send a note about sentimental value, they will attempt to get ahold of you if they can't fix it, to see if you want a new model, or the knife sent back in the condition it is in. I have heard alot of people say if they send in the old model wave for repair, that they wind up getting a new wave. Not sure if this is completely true though. I guess you would have to let them know if you want the original back.
