My Spirit is broken

Discovered a crack in the pliers of my Spirit this morning. Only had it for 6 weeks or so.

While I have used it, I don't feel I have mistreated it.

I have contacted the shop I bought it from through ebay and we'll see what they say about it. I paid with PayPal so should have some protection. Only problem is they're in Germany so it might take some time to sort all this out.

Best carry my SS one instead for a while.

That is crazy. The crack is visible in the pics used for your giveaway. Looking back over your older pics it appears the BO had a minor mark there the whole time.

I think you're right. I took this one on the day I got it (or maybe a day or two later at most):

I'd just send it to Victorinox directly. They'll swap it out/ repair it no problem.

Yup, not your fault, definitely metallurgical. I'd personally send it to Victorinox as you'll be sure to get a good one back

The shop have agreed to replace it. Just negotiating over who pays return postage. Hint: it won't be me.

If you send it for warranty you might wait a little, BUT you'll get a new one for your €60 under list price.
If you return it you'll just get your money back and miss out on that bargain.

Well, the shop won't replace it, because they don't have anything to replace it with. Spoke with the UK importers yesterday - they'll send it back to Victorinox for inspection/repair/replacement for £9.99.

Had an almost unused LM Core break completely off in that same place. Broke on the first mildly hard job I used it on. LM replaced it.

the good thing about lm's warranty is i usually get the tool back in a week or less,just wish they repaired there older mt's as personally prefer there older stuff $:-\$
