OK, here's my guess: Somewhere around Mt Hutt looking Southwest with the tops of Winterslow and Somers peeping above the cloud and Peel Range in the far distance?  :pok:

Did some camping/hiking in the alpine.

Moon set.

Hiked to check out a nearby icefield.

Woke up to snow the last few mornings.

Interesting. What type of ship is that, and how was it sunk?

I tried to go there again a few weeks ago to take better photographs but the weather was not dive friendly

Another nice walk in the park with Milo. Chilly day, only 7c, but nice and sunny.

Thankfully I was able to make it up to the mountains for a few days.  I try to unplug so picture taking is really not done.  Weather was really nice and I've determined a few things while up there, more on that in a later thread.

Unplugged and recharged for a busy last month of the year.  My Coleman stove worked like a charm as did my mini stove running the propane fuel mix.  It was a full moon and the campgrounds were lit up so beautifully.  There were more campers there than usual this time of year but it also didn't snow like last year.  I was hoping there was snow.  I was really impressed with my Hunter.  I carried this knife as my side tool in addition to my fixed blade.  What you see in the pot is Jambalaya.  Yeah we don't eat bad while out.  I tried a few new things this time out and was really happy with the results.  Again I'll post in the appropriate threads later.  Oh and my bamboo cutting boars and a total win.  You can see the cut marks from my SAK but the blade was fine.  I worried the bamboo would easily dull my blades but it didn't happen.

+2  :like: - how did the supermoon look Aloha ?

Ascended Ireland's highest mountain yesterday, it was my daughters first ascent of Carrauntoohil - i'd post pictures of the view, but A) they're blurry and B) it was (as usual) just grey cloud so no views at all.
So, imagine a blurry grey sky and you've got the picture :D

The moon was spectacular on the clear night sky.  I use my phone to take pictures but tend to leave it in the vehicle.  I had to come back home a bit earlier than I wanted but life calls.  I'll get back out again soon enough.

Awesome you daughter was able to make the ascent with you.  I'm sure you were a proud daddy and she was pretty proud too.

In the local mountains again this morning.  We've been having a warm December with weird temperature inversions, it was +9 degrees C in the shade at 2075m.  Normally it's well below freezing up there at this time of the year.

So.... First real snow of the year. I got a text from one of my roommates, don't even try the hill. Considering he has 4wd to my front and he grew up on this hill, not going to even question. (Thank the gods his dad didn't have to go anywhere today.) Of course, parking ban, everyone off the road! So to find an open spot in a parking lot that I can legally park in, takes about 20 minutes.

On the other side of town. I had to hike halfway across town, pause to look at the State House in the snow (it does look good, the snow in the trees and they're taller than the SH) and then up the hill. Not that far from the bottom of the hill to the house. Map says 600 yards. Map fails to take into account the 120 or foot elevation change along the way. Three steps forward and up, two steps sliding back..

And I get to wake up early and hike down the hill and shovel my car out and then go work.

At least the bell ringers decided to stay inside.

EDIT: I should point out that I live in Vermont. I live in the state capitol. In fact, I can see "The Dome" of the State House from my window. It is a capitol "city" solely by that is what it says on the charter. Our population is about 7500, and it's less than three miles to walk from one end of what I call the Capitol Village (the main part of town) to the other. We're so small that if you see a manure spreader going past the State House, it's not a statement, it's just springtime and that's the fastest way between the fields of this one family's two farms. And you have to drive south to get to NORTHfield. We're a strange lot.
