Did a local trail race on the weekend.  50 miles, 3500m elevation gain/loss.
I need to get an easier mid-life crisis...

Congrats that is some achievement  :like:

Good work. :tu:  The last time I was in that area we left from the Stavely end and encountered a runner at Duke Knob who was doing the same route you did. He collapsed in front of us whilst we were talking but we stuck with him and he came right... I worry about what could happen to a lightly equipped person in a more remote part of the track.

Yeah a bag of lemons for sure.

Nice pics Zoidberg!
Looks wintery down there, what was the temperature like?

The weather played nice, temps held around 10c and the winds maxed around 20km in exposed areas so windchill was minimal.

The best way to keep going is to have an event to train for.

Nice temperature for moving, but wouldn't want to stop for too long though, cool down pretty quick.

That looks like a good event.  What's the weather like down there at the start of November?  Seems like a pretty exposed course, could be a bit of a suffer-fest if you get a storm on race day.

It's usually warming up some by then.
Most of the course is in forestry.
I've ridden horses through there a few times and local schools use the lower paddocks for cross country races.

Group therapy.

It was nothing special, the best was most of in a group two inches wide and an inch tall, with two fliers that spread it out to three inches. But of the bulk pack of 22LR I went through, mostly stayed in 3x3 groups at 10 yards.

So... shrug. Not the most accurate of pistols, not the best of ammunition.

Bingo. I went over Alexander Bluff Bridge first (I'm on the West Bank) then back over Peninsula.

I've slept a few nights along that stretch of river. Although last time it was somewhere up the tops on sandy bay rd.

Then the next weekend I walked up to a lookout on the local bike trail.
