Thanks MMR.  The pics are from an alpine plateau in the coast mountains of BC Canada, located about 150km north of Vancouver.

Are the deer in your pictures roaming wild, or are they on a farm/estate?

That really makes me want to visit Canada and go on a hiking trip. I used to live near Seattle and went hiking around mount rainier which was beautiful too, but not like those pictures you took

The pictures of the deer were taken in Farran woods, co. Cork, Ireland, sadly the deer live in a wild enclosure (you can see the chain linked fence in the background), as fascinating as it is to see them this close (wild deer are usually super shy), I don’t like to see animals live, and I am highly against it too

Thanks for the reply.  Now that I look closely I can see the fence in your pictures.

Took the kids to see some Kahikatea trees today. As we were leaving a Kereru landed above us.

They get drunk on berries and get too big and heavy for the branches they land on.

Got out on my bike early this morning.  Sunrise over Wiltshire:

Yeah, it's a bit fuzzy.  But it was smurfing cold, only 2 deg C when I set out.

A bit further south, looking into the Avon Valley.  You can almost see magentus's house from here. :)

Did about 40 miles in all, and was back before the kids had finished breakfast. :tu:
