Gerber's with NO EDGE from factory?

I know this is a knife, but I thought you Gerber folks might know something about this one. This is an Applegate in new condition. So new they forgot to add any edge to the blade. The extra metal is even still there for application of the point. Anyone know why? I live near Gerber and other big factories so I have occasionally found prototype material in the past. Any insight welcome

That's an odd one.  I can only assume this is human error.  Someone forgot to grind the edge, someone didn't pick it up in QC.  Disappointing really. :-\  I'm certain Gerber will make it good though.

I seems to be really a surprise to me.
Gerber with no edge, I can't imagine...
Seems to be a human error
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!
