Is there any way to buy the small screwdriver bit by itself?

Today while I saw at work, I was fixing to use my small screwdriver bit, and before getting to the screw, I accidentally dropped the wave and the bit hit the ground and snapped off at the base. I usually don't use the small drvier bit, and can do without it for a while, but is there any way to just buy the bit itself, or do you have to buy the full set?

I am sure you can probably get a single small phillips/eyeglass driver from Leatherman for next to nothing. From what you discribe the driver snapped in two? So the metal of the bit is flush with the driver? If that is the case the small driver as well as the larger drivers are open ended, you should be able to get another screwdriver or something and push that broken piece out. Anyone around here got a spare bit?

yeah, I had just thought about that a minute ago. I ended up using a cheap knife I have to push the spring back a tad, and the bit came right out. Only bad thing is that the S&H charges will be more than the tool itself. lol.

Leatherman charges $10 for shipping from their website, so you might as well get the big bit set, which I've seen for $16 in stores.

I'd take a few at that price.

oh if money was in my favor I would. I found a good place that sells them for $13 on ebay, and the shipping is $5.95 I know it is only 2 dollars, but you will probably end up saving more after you figure how much you would have to pay with taxes and all that, to buy it from leatherman or a store.

I would just buy the Bit Kit. It's SO useful and it makes your Wave so much more versatile.. Oh, and you get the small bit as well!  :)

A while back I contacted Leatherman about their bit kits. I was going to order a set just for the 5mm and 6mm allen bits which I use at work quite often. I was concerned that if I was to strip out or break one of these I would have to order another complete kit to replace one bit. I was told that if I was to have a bit break or round off to contact Leatherman and I would get a replacement quickly and free of charge. I'm not certain if this policy is still in effect but I would shoot an email off to Leatherman and see what they say before you pay for anything.

I contacted them thursday afternoon, and I got an email yesterday morning stating they were gonna send me a few replacement bits free of charge!!
