91mm SAK sheath
on: March 18, 2015, 05:08:09 PM
Just made a new sheath for my Climber. It has a removable brass stud(?). It can be used to simply close the sheath or screwed on facing the other side, to close it and at the same time holding a small leather piece with a clip to hang it from anywhere.

Haven't made this little accessory yet, I'll prepare a make-shift one to show what I mean.

So, in case you want to clip this to a belt loop, MOLE backpack, whatever, you can reverse the stud position and have it hold the clip accessory. I'll make a leather one, with a spring locking clip. This is just a paper model with a paper clip to give you a general idea(*) of the final product.

That's a cool idea. Can't wait to see it in leather.

Nice job

Thanks! I've been planning on doing this for a while. It takes me forever to get things done. I make lots of paper models and sketches before finally getting the final product done.

That is actually a good idea with leather. You want to get you design figured out before you start cutting on leather. The stuff is expensive.

I had this done a few days ago. Like I promised, here are the pics. The lock can be used in two ways: depending on the order you pass the metal stud inside each flap, you need to remove only one (faster but less secure - fig.3) or two flaps (slower but more secure - fig.4) to remove the knife.
