Well I made the plunge
on: July 26, 2008, 06:11:19 AM
I finally went and bought a Swiss Tool  :ahhh It is a very nice 2002 plier head ST X I think that everyone is right they are a very well built tank of a MT :multi: I still love my Leathermans but i think that this 1 will grow on me :D Does anyone have any thoughts about the X ? who all has one
And why doesn't Dunc like this particular model again ::) Owe yeah I remember I think it was the lack of a serrated blade  @ least I think it was :D It is my first larger than 4 inch MT so to say the least it is big :D I like all the tools so I believe me and the ST X will be good friends

Congrats! I am sure you will love it!

Make sure to update us with your impressions of it.

One of the first things that struck me about the SwissTool was the tool placement within the handles. The way they the tools are arranged in perfectly symmetrical fashion in each handle is incredible well thought out. And the way the nail nicks are so logically organized with little cutouts in the other tools shows an amazing attention to detail.

Way to go! SwissTools are the best. Of course, I admit to being a Sakoholic (Defender made me do it) The X is the one I don't have. I use the original the most for work and Spirit S for hiking.  :climber:

I chose the X because I like scissors :multi: I really don't have a need for a serrated edge knife ::)  so this 1 fit the bill perfect for me :climber:  :D Plus I am finding anything Vic is well made  :D

Congrats Poncho, the X is a good choice. I prefer the scissors on it to the new style on the Spirit. :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I hope you like the X!

I personally like to have two blades on my multitool... So, the X is my least favorite SwissTool.. I like to carry a Standard and a Micra. That works well for me. But, I like the RS a lot too..

Goodonya, the swisstool is the handiest darn thing around. I took the family shopping in canberra yesterday, and when we pulled up in the underground car park the ford's electric window stuck down. There were cries of hysteria from the other half "we have to go home, you don't have any tools to fix it" "I do right here on my hip" i replied. I whipped out the RS and removed the window switch, cleaned the contacts and away she went again. Problem resolved, Happy days.
Swisstool, don't leave home without it!
