After a month of stretching and wearing out those pocket seams.  This is a chance to carry an old reliable friend.
Let's hope we make it past today without having too many fools around us.

I'm not making tough decisions today.  I'm carrying my MTO modified 84mm Electrician.

Ok....just this once.

My EDC SI is kind of a beater.  The IDIOT careless former owner badly scratched sharpened the blade, twisted the tip and twisted the small screwdriver tip on the can opener. It's perfect otherwise.

Luckily, I only have $14.00 invested in it.  :tu:

Well, I have only the gold - plate Pioneer for this thread... we discussed it last summer, maybe some of you remember it. I'd been using it for about 8 months until I bought some "real" i.e. no SAK knives recently :D

Honestly I would have grabbed that in an instant for 14 bucks.

Well being that it's well used too, you could really go with whichever one you've gotten the most use out of and that would fit. But you just bought that poor soul off eBay right?

@Higgins, yeah, I bought it from TexasToolCrafters, but it arrived i quite a poor shape scales-wise... so we had some issues with the guys, which they took care of later.

And, yeah, it's been my most used one... given i didn't have a single SAK about less than a year ago... And from all I have, the Pioneer turned out to be the most convenient one for me - the longest blade and in the same time the slimmest one I have right now.

And a bit of wear on the blade... (gold wear :D)

I also dropped it on tiles... so the tip of the blade is sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly bent, but I couldn't take a good picture. It's not so visible as felt upon touching.

These are two of my EDC knives. First is an Aitor "Gran Capitan" which I got on trade. Had a badly sharpened main blade that I have rectified as decently as possible.
Second is a Victorinox from the early/mid 50's which I found in a TSA bin a while back, in this kind of condition:
http://blogericious.blogspot.com/2014/01/beat-up-40s-victorinox.html
After completely pulling it apart, and using a mixture of new 91mm Vic parts (scissors), and Wenger 85mm parts (corkscrew), and reprofiling the broken-tipped main and small blades (to a Philips in the last case), it's made a quite practical EDC.

Here's one that I've started to restore (rebuilt/repeened, new scales).  The blades still need work so it still looks a bit rough.

Here is one from about 1985.It's a Wenger Monarch.

I guess I could use my CT34......hmmmm I have to think about that one......

An eco-Climber which I can be caught with on many days. I try not to abuse it too much, but I EDC it often. I think I can keep from rotating it out for a while.

That's a great rebuild on the old Vic Neill :salute:

Thanks, it was indeed difficult to get it all apart without damaging it too much more. You can see that the rivet holes in the scales widened considerably in places due to all the work needed. Was worth it in the end though.

I guess that if I look it as a "well used" challenge, then I have tons of gracefully weathered ALOX that will fill the bill.  I have only one true beater...an abused OC Pioneer that took nearly a month in a mineral oil bath to resurrect.....even the key split ring on it was rusted...

So, I'm in!  :2tu:

This one actually would have been in pretty good shape if the former fool of an owner didn´t decide to test his sharpening skills on a high speed wheel.

Turns out I do have a well worn SAK (ooh-er!)

My daughter bought an Explorer from our local antique centre. They wanted £12.50 but she bartered them down to £7.50 and gave it to me for my birthday. Up until then I'd EDC'd a Huntsman. The Explorer was the one that really opened my eyes and made SAK's fun. I love the mag glass.

Anyway, the Explorer was very dirty, the scissor spring was broken, the main blade was bent and the small blade has a ding in it.

This is what it looked like:

So I cleaned it up, fixed the scissor spring and rectified the ding. I left the blade bent as it doesn't affect performance and lends a bit more character to the knife.

Here it is now, it's one of my favourites:
