You skate???

Yup, and surf and snowboard etc etc. The kids and I went to three different skate parks today.  :tu:

That's cool! I didn't know that, I used to snowboard a lot, then hockey got in the way. Got back into it recently though. Skateboarding on the other hand I was always pretty bad at.

Yeah I think I'm the only current board rider around here.

Still waiting for ICanFixThat to come along with his beater Battle of Sempach, or some member with a beater damascus.

But I think he posted pics of his user too

I remember that thread, hopefully one of the damascus guys will post here this month. I would like to have a damascus Climber in the collection, but those show up in the Crazy thread too often, and would be so tempting to EDC it...

Those are still over my collection price limit, I can't even find a reasonable damast Spartan.
Thanks!

Carrying the Climber again, but here's another favorite in the rotation, a mid '80's Standard. The Climber is from this era also, maybe the 'golden age' for 91mm (imho). This one has no advertising, a true standard Standard. I carry it when I want something very minimal, and I usually have my Jetsetter with me for basic scissors anyway. I don't know how rare it is, but I have never found another one like it. Probably in the top 5 favorites for me.  :salute:

Easy to forget about my most carried one, it's just always there, air travel, high security areas, everywhere. Probably the worst condition one I have. Jetsetter 2 with signature scale added.  :)

These are two of my EDC knives. First is an Aitor "Gran Capitan" which I got on trade. Had a badly sharpened main blade that I have rectified as decently as possible.
Second is a Victorinox from the early/mid 50's which I found in a TSA bin a while back, in this kind of condition:
http://blogericious.blogspot.com/2014/01/beat-up-40s-victorinox.html
After completely pulling it apart, and using a mixture of new 91mm Vic parts (scissors), and Wenger 85mm parts (corkscrew), and reprofiling the broken-tipped main and small blades (to a Philips in the last case), it's made a quite practical EDC.
beautiful knife. Bought an old master craftsman around that age, but with modern can opener and bail
