I haven't been to England since 1987.  But what I remember, I enjoyed.  I've been curious.  I hear about the right of way for walking in England.  Is it possible to walk between most towns and cities via walking trails and avoid most automobile traffic?

Takes a wee bit of planning, but yes, pretty much! Routes like the Ridgeway and the Pilgrams Way have been in use since the Neolythic. There's a lot of routes liking trails and so forth, but yes,you can pretty much walk or cycle right across Britain car free :tu:

Nice thread!

Triumph Herald?

The gravestones look very cartoonish in their askew-ness

Yeah,it's a Herald. I don't know why,but I kept seeing a Spitfire

The gravestones,yeah...It's one of the reasons I went into the churchyard. The oldest grave I seen was about 1817, far more recent than I expected. The older sections of brickwork in the church building made me think early 1600s...might need to go back and watch more Time Team

Kirky that was amazing. The pics of the Churches and headstones were surreal. I share your appreciation for war memorials. Thanks for taking us there.
