Very nice indeed. :salute:  I still think my Marttiini Lynx takes a sharper edge than any other knife I own.

So yesterday, after a quick sanding down to remove the black heat treat stuff and sharp edges off the Jaakari, I hacked up a few branches, cleaned the blade and wiped it over with some oil. Then a visitor briefly handled the knife before I went home. Today when I got home the blade was rusting up where the visitor had touched the blade. Given that it won't be a clean cuts type blade I'll probably give up on keeping it oiled and just go with a natural patina.

interesting that it started to rust that fast. is that the 110 or the 140?

Unfortunately while I set the fire I knocked the knife out of the bucket and it fell (less than a foot) tip down onto the tiles.

140 as the man said, and it's carbon steel, rust is what it does   ::)

The original patina could have kept it at bay somewhat, like on the one I sent you, bro...  :pok:

Nice old video of an old Finnish craftsman in Kauhavan. I don't know if this was the video from the first post in this thread, but...

One of these days I will pick up either a nice puukko, or a utilitarian puukko. Hopefully one that's both.

Puukkos are in a way pragmatic art. Even the mass produced ones like Mora Classic tend to end up being rather unique thanks to their owners
