Micra mod--step-by-step
on: July 28, 2008, 06:42:43 AM
There's a guide on instructables on how to get your keys into your Micra (strictly, he didn't use a Micra, but some knock-off). The author of the guide credits the idea to the edcforums mod which I believe most of us here have seen. This one is much more comprehensive in its pictorial steps, which could be good for some of us newbies to modding.

This has been my dream for a loooooooooooooooooong time.  :D

All I need now is for someone to make a SAK with keys in it and the dream would be complete.  :pok:

It has been done.  The only problem is when you get your SAK confiscated you also can't get into your home  :-\

I really like that idea.   I don't think it would take much more than pulling the existing tools and using them as a template to grind tangs on the keys.

Very cool idea.

see mine:

4 keys.  I ground down each of the edges to be the same as the tweezer side.  makes it easy to get at the keys and open them up.  Was easy and fun.

Looks great!  Mine's on hold at the moment as I'll be moving soon and will have all new keys soon... but it looks cool to see someone managing to do it successfully!

Thanks for the welcomes... I've been lurking for some time...  I have quite a collection of multi-tools.  Just added a couple of SOG power assist tools.  Just haven't had anything to contribute till I saw this thread.

If you've been lurking a while then you'll know that you don't have to have anything to add before you post.  It certainly doesn't stop me anyway.  :)
