Waist or Fanny Packs
on: January 11, 2007, 03:49:38 AM
I'm looking for a waist or fanny type pack for when I'm out in the woods.  I'd like to get something that is durable, and of course has several neat pockets for me to stuff multi's in :)

Anyone have any recommendations?  I'm looking for something decently sized.

I like the looks of some of the Maxpedition stuff.  How comfortable are some of the shoulder bags like the Fatboy Versipack?  I'm going to be carrying this thing for 6-8 hours at a time, so I'm a little hesitant about the shoulder bags.

I have had two Thermite Versipacks, which might be a bit small for your needs, but it was very comfortable and carried almost everything i needed to carry.  In fact, it also carried my camcorder!  Just big enough for stuff and no more.

I really like the looks of the Thermite Versipack.   Size wise it's just about right.   Did you use the waist belt and the leg strap?  How comfortable was that?

On my first one I had the leg strap and I liked it.  On my second one the leg strap was missing, and I missed it, but got used to not having it.  So, I guess in a nutshell it works both ways.  The nice thing is that there's a velcro loop that attaches it to the bag, so you can have it or not have it with no problems.

I have to get a Ferguson!  It's the bowl of choice for discriminating hineys!
