1969 Timex Viscount and a pre-1963 TImex, unknown. These are both English-made automatic mechanical watches. I paid $20 for the pair, and am beginning to wonder if I smurfed. TImex and "high end watch" don't go in the same sentence. Timex and "lasts a long time" rarely go in the same sentence. Timex and "your jeweler will fix it" rarely go in the same sentence (and for me, it's true).  The Viscount will last a decent amount of time; but the older one won't. I set them and then carried them around in my hand a bit to let them wind up. I hope I didn't screw them up when I set them, but who knows.  I think the Viscount will be salvageable and become my new dress watch. The black dialled watch will likely end up being given to my jeweler for parts. It tends to stop a lot.

While in general I agree with your assessment of Timex, including my latest Timex which is nice enough looking but the lume is basically non-existent rendering it useless outside of daylight hours, I do have a bit of an oddity on my hands.

I have a Timex Triathlon I bought in 1987 that I subsequently took with me on my travels to Australia.  I became a certified diver there, PADI, and did my Advanced certification as well.  Back in 87 you needed a watch (and a Walkman), not necessarily for diving but I took it on every dive I did while there (about 15 total) and it went as far as 100 feet on a number of occasions.  I still have that watch to this day.  It's gone through a few batteries, not surprisingly, in the interim but it is still running to this day.  It's only on it's second watch band as well.  I don't know if the devil made it or what, but it lives up to their old advertising maxim of "takes a licking and keeps on ticking".

Treated myself to a smartwatch, samsung watch 4 classic 46mm. Picked it up yesterday so still playing with it and eating through battery fast as a result.

I chose the stainless steel one and have fitted a stainless steel strap to it as well.  Current watch face is one off the play store MD274.

Awesome dive-watch John .

Looks like we share another passion aside from tools and SAKs  ;).

The watch virus flared up again a year ago or so, after it had been dormant for some time...

Here's one I got earlier this year.

It's a beatblasted Seiko SKX007 (buckle and clasp are also beatblasted) on a new grey Turtle strap.  It has a Seiko 4R36 mechanism,  double domed safire with a coin edged bezel, signed crown and...

an original Seiko SPB237 (new Captain Willard) dial and hands.

I've wanted a modded Seiko for years, and this one is exactly the way I want it, I'm over the moon with this one  :D.

And I got this beauty last weekend as an early birthday (and Christmas  ::)) gift from Misses TG-24 8).

A Seiko SRPE03K1, or better known as a King Turtle.  The dial and strap are in this cool olive drab army green colour, sometimes it looks green, other times black, depending on the light.

I'll try to post more pics during my vacation (two more days of work to go...).

The SBS diver

And the G22 automatic

I'm ashamed to say,  but I had not heard from CWC until now (and checking out their site,  I wish I still hadn't heard from them...  My wallet is hurting already,  no need for yet another way of spending more money  :ahhh).

Awesome looking watches, that's for sure  :tu:.

Small correction to my previous post, my latest Seiko is the SRPE05K1, not the 03K1 as I first said (the 03K1 is the same watch, but with black dial and steel bracelet).

Casio Databank CA-53W.   As it just so happened today, after looking at this one for a month at my local Walmart, there was a clerk at the jewelry counter, so I got her to get it out.

While I thought this one had all the Databank features (like a contact list/phonebook), this one's just got the calculator, dual time, and a stopwatch. Still more than my F-117; except this one (annoyingly) isn't backlit.  Don't want a smart watch, don't need a smart watch, this does the job well; and if it breaks or otherwise fails, I'm only out $20--not $200 plus.

The DBC-32 I'm looking at next. It has the phonebook/databank feature, a ten year battery, a backlight, and bigger buttons--at only $35.

Though I prefer a G-Shock these days, I thought those data bank and calculator watches were insanely cool when I was a kid. Nice score!

As much as I don’t like them. They are useful on occasion. Apple Watch 8.
