I fell into a string of videos from Japanese female metal bands the other day. Some good stuff.

More Oldschool....👍

I think I remember reading in my long gone album jacket that the subject of the song was the Iraq War and the beginning of the downfall of Sadam Hussein.....Fwiw. Enjoy!

Now that I'm venturing outside of the tool forums I'm finding some very interesting threads, for example this one.

I'm in the club! I wouldn't call myself a metalhead, it's a bit too restrictive, and funnily enough, if you'd forced me to name my top5 most favorite acts/performers, none of them could be considered metal, but most of my favorite music is (hard) rock and metal.

I've been listening to rock for close to 30 years now, and I love everything from rock'n'roll (Jerry Lee Lewis), R&B (the Stones), glam rock (Bowie, Roxy Music), garage/protopunk the Stooges), early metal (Sabbath), punk (the Misfits), Aerosmith, KISS, Rush, the Cure, Joy Division, Mötley Crüe, Hanoi Rocks, Maiden, Megadeth, 90's Anthrax (I know…!), Skid Row, Love/Hate, Voivod, Hellacopters, Strapping Young Lad, the Wildhearts, Kyuss, Coal Chamber, Machine Head, Deadsy, Spineshank, just to name a few off the top of my head.

My absoulute favorite is GNR, they were my very first "own" favorite band, I grew up at the right time for them.

Over the years I managed to see some of the greatest names like Sabbath (twice), Maiden (twice), Guns, Priest, Alice Cooper, Pantera, Motörhead, Slayer, Faith No More (I'm definitely missing some big bands right now, but whatever) and also gems like Voivod or Kyuss. Still, my very best concert experience was with Amanda Palmer (of Dresden Dolls and nuditiy fame :D)

Anyway, I love rock and metal, and no kidding even songs I've heard a million times can bring tears to my eyes. And not necessarily because of the lyrical/emotional content, but for the sheer love of the music - a good riff, a cool bass line, a nice drum fill, and I'm done. Tears of joy.
