Give Me at Least 10 Reasons Why You Are Happy Today!

Of course, just like most people, I also feel all kinds of 50 Shades of Blue at times, but then I go like:

Hey, what the smurf is wrong with me ?!

Am I not under my 30s? Am I not healthy? Don't I have a normal life? Don't I have a good job?! What do I even lack in my life?! NOTHING.

- I'm healthy, so I can work.
- I work, so I can pay my bills and help my old parents
- I'm not blind, so I can enjoy all the beautiful stuff around me
- I'm not disabled, so I can take care of myself and other people
- I'm totally sane (though some would say otherwise), so I can reflect over stuff, which has a beauty of its own
- I can walk for miles without feeling tired, enjoying the fresh air, the sun, the blossoming trees and the aroma of spring
- I'm not deaf, so I can enjoy beautiful music
- I can talk to people if there's someone willing to listen to me
- I have a home
- I have maybe weird for some but still great hobbies
- I am educated
- I have just few, but good friends who I'm willing to take a bullet for
- I can afford going on holidays

And perhaps the list can go on and on... and last, but not least, I'm a MTO member

I think everyone should appreciate the small things in life before they go all depressed and suicidal.

So... What are your 10 reasons to feel happy today??

For example:

1. I had an awesome home-made coffee

2. I had a good walk and feel refreshed
3. I learned some new things
4. I did some shopping taking advantage of the weekly discounts in a store
5. Everyone around me's still healthy
6. I've got cash in my pocket
7. I had some good whiskey.. lol, which resulted in me starting to think way too much and therefore creating this thread

8. My back isn't hurting today
9. I sent a donation SMS to help Nepal, which is something of the size of a graind of sand compared to the aid they need, but still something
10. Talked to my friends / MTO friends and other/

1: Mother has been given the all clear after some tests

2: Long weekend, no work till Tuesday
3: Despite the current climate, my job has lasted longer than I thought it would earlier in the year
4: I've just had a poo

5: Blossom here/been/on it's way on many of my fruit trees/bushes this year; both apple trees plus cherry tree, medlar, mirabelle de nancy, jostaberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, raspberry, blueberries, and quince (still confident for the alpine strawberries, blackberry, pinkberry, checkerberry and hoping for a least flowers if not fruit on the passionfruit)
6: All appears well with my unborn neice
7: It's a sunny weekend, so I can do a bit of work in the garden
8: My laptop is working better than it was yesterday
9: Once I've typed up this post, I'll be cracking open a beer
10: Once I've finished that beer I'll be going for fish and chips

NNR it's all a matter of perspective. I used to look at my life for all it didn't contain then I'd compare to those who were less fortunate both of which left me in the same state.

As I grow older I see things differently especially as I see my kids grow and what they strive for. I have come to realize for myself what makes me happy is much different than what it used to be. Happiness can be elusive and fleeting when I've not been in the moment. I've learned to be more present in my life and as a result "more happy".

What makes me happy changes over time but some of the tangibles are;
My kids, friends, dog, clients, hobbies.

The intangibles are;
faith, memories, seeing kindness, love.

I can be having a crappy day and see something small happen and immediately snap out of it. I was having a particularly crappy day and went to the market when I saw a guy randomly help a fellow man in the parking lot. It's nice to see this and while corny to some this sort of thing makes me smile.

1. It hasn't rained here today
2. Because of No.1 I've done stuff in the garden
3. More sharp stuff arrived in the post this morning
4. I'm off to KSA tomorrow for 4 days and actually looking forward to it for once
5. Because of No.4 I am drinking beer now
6. Because of No.5 I will sleep for the whole flight
7. I have built more DC Comics Superhero Lego with my son
8. When I bought beer the shop also had Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky so I bought all of it
9. My health and fitness are pretty damn good for a 45 year old
10. My divorce will be over soon and I can resume a normal life

1. I am feeling love for my wife
2. My wife is worth loving and not only
3. My wife gives back the love, multiplied
4. My daughter copes with her life and studies, she just organized a successful Tedex and she's coming home tomorrow for a couple of days
5. My son studied hard for his University exams and we hope he'll do well
6. We are going to see the buliding of our daughters appartment. I'm glad we are able to give our children something more than the unconditioned love my parents gave to me, although this is still the most valuable thing one can do for his kids
7. Afterwards we are going for a drink, after many months of work and study.
8. The weather is excellent and spring lifted off.
9. I'm reading a great book, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

Simple...
Apart from spending the last week at the coast fly fishing, swimming, snorkeling with my wife kids and friends,
I am going home to a shipment of knives, 11 Spydercos and a RAT 1. 4 spoken for by friends so that's 8 for me.
Also another shipment of 4-5 SAKs and a lone shipment of a classic Harpy.

-Because I'm off shooting tomorrow,I'm spending time with friends
-Yesterday was Beltaine,spring is underway in earnest
-I'm on holiday next week
- Tea!
-I had fried eggs and potato waffles tonight
-Two new Rough Riders arrived yesterday
-I can visit MTo

I've been on holiday for the last week

In Wales

Spent pretty much all of it with my wife and son

We went for a walk in the rain this afternoon, just so we could splash in puddles

Now at my mum's being looked after royally

I'm drinking beer

It's my son's 2nd birthday tomorrow

He's getting Lego and toy trains

There will be cake

We're going home tomorrow

3. Just got crazy & spontaneous and ordered a netbook I'd been planning on for a year, lol. Nothing special, but mine's just .. too slow and freezy and drives me nuts all the time.

Why am I happy today....

-The weather was nice
-I have books on my phone
-I have a garden faucet I'm willing to drink from
-I had my phone in my pocket
-I had a lawn chair and spare water bottles in the garage.
-My landlord wasn't two hundred miles away when I called to say "I locked myself out"

Switched to my small bag because I was just going to make a quick run into the village proper for small o-rings at the hardware store and some groceries before I started cooking for the week. My keys were still clipped to my normal pack. And I realised it as soon as the door closed. So when I got unlocked, I added another errand to my list, and now both bags have keys and there is a concealed spare.

OH! And I found my camoflauge santa hat. So for halloween, I might make my LBE workplace friendly, put on my cammies, add that hat, and go as the tactical lawn gnome.

I did something I've been putting off for ages
I've made a few plans for the future
Everyone around me's currently healthy
My new PC's been working perfectly
I haven't had back ache for ten days
My shoes didn't make me blisters this time, lol
