I get it, it's okay. I just tried to act smart, lol. I myself had been in some serious sort of bad mood for various reasons for about a month, but today surprisingly I felt good.

5. close to finishing a relatively boring book
6. got an invitation to donate blood on Friday
7. picked up new books for the kids (bedtime stories for kids in hospitals)
8. boss is still on vacation
9. got to use a SAK (that should be reason enough)
10. hot women and cold whiskey still exist
11. so does bacon

Isn't it odd that people who can't write a letter on a computer still manage to install malware? Seems many programmers could learn a bit about easy installation procedure from those

Well, I think it's up to you how you perceive most of what reality offers. It's up to you what you choose to focus on.

I've learned to be more present in my life and as a result "more happy". 

This is a wise observation, and is one taught by happiness gurus from Tony Robbins to meditation practitioners.  Our minds are complex creatures, and we spend much of our lives regretting the past or fearing the future.  By actively focusing on the present, which is almost never as bad as we feared it would be, our brains may recognize that our objective lives are actually pretty good.  Happiness and contentment can result.

I have long advocated the view that we subconsciously engage in many behaviors that focus our brains on the present.  The act of surfing the internet looking at MTs, finding a vendor, reading MTO, purchasing the MT and then getting it out of the mailbox - these things focus our thoughts on the present, and in so doing push out at least temporarily past regrets and future fears.  Its a coping mechanism.  We think its about the MT, but maybe its just about feeling good.  That's how I've ended up with 120+ knives, 30 guns, 60 MTs and SAKs, and numerous Maxpedition products that I never use.

i dont tend to list reasons why i'm happy, nor stop to reflect often, but this has made me think and i have a lot to be happy about - usual stuff, kids, partner, me, our health is good, usual stuff. A lot to bitch about too, but such is life and you work through the good and the bad. My take on the bad is summed up by the phrase "this too shall pass".

1. My cold didn't go bad further, so I'll be back to healthy in a day or so

3. It's Monday tomorrow and unlike most people I love Mondays
4. I suspect my friend's ordered me an Opinel, so I'll be waiting for it next week or so
5. I survived this month without going extra hard on my budget

7. We're commemorating the day when my mother almost died at the operating table 20 years ago, but by a miracle she's still with us today

After working in a volvo truck maintanance shop for 22 weeks while working my ass off, cleaning the shop floor, changing truck tires that weigh 80 kilo's, be the steam off valve of my boss and have the 7 hour battle daily with rusted nuts and bolts. All for free because it was an apprenticeship

After those 22 weeks i developed a special ability to smile even though there is nothing to smile for
