not exactly four inches, but ba knife with proven worth http://tomahawksadventuretravel.blogspot.com/2015/01/old-butch-my-favorite-blade.html
I had a green river back in the day and they made superb cooking knives
I've looked at the ESEE RB3 and JG3 and while they are marketed as camp/bushcraft knives I think they just might fit the bill.

That's bloody gorgeous mate
That reminds me of the bushcraft knife that was made by Shing, sadly it doesn't look like his site (shingcraft) doesn't exist any more.

Great looking knives R65 The BK14 is one of many I've looked at and will probably end up getting.

I was glad to get the Boker PSK, and I look forward to trying it out at some point. But I think the BK14 is the better value. The longer blade makes it more useful as a survival knife. That, and apparently Ethan Becker said (as the story goes) that he did a torture test on the BK14. Slammed it into a stump to the hilt, and then used a steel pipe to bend it 45 degrees and it would not break. So you might could break the tip off a BK14, but it's pretty indestructible. I already have two. Next time I catch them on special, might buy a 3rd So kind of like Mike's sig says, "Give in, buy several BK14s!!!!!!"
