New Air Pistol
on: May 06, 2015, 06:58:13 PM
I've got one of these on the way to me:

http://www.silesia-factory.pl/en/shop/wiatrowki-/-akcesoria/wiatrowka-cp1-kandar-45.html

As far as I can tell it's rather new to the market.  CO2 powered and in .177.  Sold in the UK as the Air Force One Target Trophy, but I'm having mine sent over from Poland as it works out far cheaper.  There was a little concern that the Polish version might not meet UK power requirements, but after doing a lot of reading this doesn't seem to be the case at all as it seems to be doing somewhere in the region of 4.5 ft/lb, well under UK required power limits.

I'll update this thread once it arrives.

Well, my club does have a 10m league. ;)  TBH though I'm really just after a 'plinker' as I reckon I've got enough room in my attic for a short pistol range.  The fact this isn't trying to look like a full bore pistol also rather appeals to me.

Big problem is it'll be far too accurate to be a plinker, trust me! My Feinwerkbau is so accurate it'll frighten most folks! And it's 30 years old!

This won't be in the same league as your Feinwerkbau. ;)  Think more along the lines of a Crosman 2240 but without the plastic bits.

Looks a hell of a lot better than a 2240!

Actually it's very reminiscent of my Ruger MkI target pistol (22LR).  Interesting you mention the Feinwerkbau.  My son shot one of those for Pony Club tetrathalon.  Wickedly accurate.  This is what he used:

I like that Nate :tu:

Mines a tad older

My PB was 472x600 in a 60 shot match. When I went onto the committee,I kinda ran out of time for serious air pistol shooting.

Garth while it might not be a Feinwerkbau it is no 2240 it is more like a Crosman custom shop gun. Free floating barrel, steel breach. custom bolt handle, target grips and I bet it has a nice trigger. Buy lots of pellets so you can see what it likes. I bet with not to much trouble you could go bulk fill with a paint ball tank. Helps a lot with accuracy being able to maintain  constant pressure. Nice gun hope you have a lot of fun with it.
I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

Got the pistol earlier and it seems good.  Not sure I'd want to have spent any more on it, but feels good enough for the money I did spend.  Took it into the attic and had a little play and fiddled with the sights.  I'm shooting at around 7 yards but managed to get a good enough group with the pistol on a bench (cardboard box if I'm honest ;)).

A word of warning though; THERE IS NO SAFETY OF ANY KIND!! :ahhh  Even having the bolt drawn back doesn't stop the pistol from discharging.  100% trigger discipline is a must.

The lack of a safety seems unusual in this day and age? I'd imagine in this era everything would have a safety ::)

Well, my Brocock doesn't have a safety per se, but you can lock the bolt back which fills the same function.  Not so with this pistol.
