My bladeless version is still being EDC'd.  :)

Since the only back tool on it at the moment is a corkscrew, I'm planning on adding the hook to the scissors which are at the opposite side of the SAK, as compared to the corkscrew layer. It should balance the aesthetics of the backside nicely.

A chisel might be useful too while you have it apart Pabs. Just a thought.  :salute:
No place to put the chisel, the way I I've done it now.
Symmetry achieved!  8)

The only thing is... Is it still a bladeless woodsman derivative, what with everything I've taken off (blades and openers)?
Or something else entirely?
Definitely a Pabsman Pabs hun.

I know Mags, we talked about this, the Mini Pabsman.  :salute:
But does it belong to the Woodsman family?
Or would it be, say, a Yeoman derivative, for example?
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Woodsman spa treatment complete (covered tool with dishwashing liquid detergent, soaked in hot water for two hours, scrubbed internals with toothbrush followed by pipe cleaners and Q-tips. I used Victorinox oil to lubricate and worked each tool. All tools are functioning properly deploying with ease and snapping back when retracted, including the stubborn awl. My iphone didn't pick up the detail of either before (looked better than reality) or after (didn't capture the improvement). I am pleased with the improvement and decided to settle for ease of function instead of trying for a Concours de Elegance look.

Here is the Woodsman after the spa treatment...
Woodsman Refurb 2 by NorCal Jim, on Flickr

The main blade has some tiny scratches that I can fix with some light sanding and buffing but it looks good enough for daily use now. In light of the tiny chip on the small blade, I decided not to treat this as a restoration and installed Sapphire scales instead of traditional red scales.  I will be searching for a pristine Woodsman and put this with other "Daily drivers".

Thanks, Barry!  I have a Sapphire Explorer with an orange lanyard that looks great and used some mixed orange paracord to make a lanyard. My wife does oil paintings and she told me that orange is the complementary color for blue. :)

I neglected to mention my method for pressing the scales into place. The various YouTube videos show Victorinox folks as well as hobbyists using specialty vices to press the scales into place. I use a clamp that uses a trigger to rachet and a quick-release lever to slide outward...

The Mini Pabsman, still my favorite.  :)
The cornerstone of my trifecta combo.
Still undecided if it belongs to the woodsman family. :ahhh

Sometimes I question my decision to leave off the opener layer... but I'm sure that my decision will be justified when I get a pioneer or my BY SAK. :dd:
