Great links, once again thanks for all the info.  I think absolute zero is the number of reasons not to own Paul Chen Multitasker(s).  Was it the inspiration for all the biracial Gerbers?

More Gerbery stuff incoming from eBay.  Who knows how it will sort out.

Just kill it. I can't stand the 400s. You can thank me later.

The 400 is cute but the pliers are just too small to be of much real use.

I got the BO blunt in as well as a stainless pro scout.  I could swap heads or tools there.  I called Gerber to see if I could buy heads or tools or send it in for mods with no luck whatsoever.

I think I'll end up killing the 400.  I haven't seen a used BO diesel priced that well.

Found and bought a used BO diesel.  I will be using its scissors and can opener but correct me if I'm wrong I won't be able to use it's handle as a spanner.  It looks different.

I really like the blunt Gerber pliers.  They were useful tightening a leaky faucet much more effective than any needle nose; surprisingly big bite.

Any trick to breaking down a diesel?

Searching around here it looks like just a torx bit is needed?

Thanks for the conf.  Just waiting on a handle/spanner included in another purchase.  This is coming as 2 linked 600 handles, seller wasn't sure how to separate them.  May not be necessary or it may be clumsy.  What is needed?

I guess I wasn't clear?

How do I disassemble the 600 handles?

The handles are riveted to together at the pivot. Should be no need to take them apart to mod the tool.
