Blue Alox
on: June 03, 2015, 02:31:58 PM
I seem to be gravitating towards the blue alox models and I started a sheet to note the release types / dates / numbers. If the members could look over what I have and tell me what issues they see, that would be very helpful.
I think having a list by color and not just size / type could be helpful to some.
Thanks!

Here is the spreedsheet I made:

To clarify - this list is not what I have, but the known blue alox variations.

Is the rancher and sea rancher two different knives?

Doesn't Paul Bunyan have a blue alox named "Babe"?
PM me if you want one of my kidneys for your SOG TiNi multitool.

OK, both my kidneys.

Not sure I'd want to be calling a giant bull babe, but Paul Bunyan has pretty big balls...

Does that mean Babe has blue balls?
Or not so much since Paul Bunyan take his Babe to the woods to get some wood.

I have this blue one on the way. Not sure if it's just a Settler variation or it had its own name. I'm mostly after that small clip blade for a mod I need Syph to get to. Not a blue fan. Too many knives with too little time. And too little money. Lol.

I've a red alox one like this too, but without the advertising blank. I don't want to harvest off of it however.....:)

Yeah, it's a form of the Settler it looks like, but they always seem to have a pen blade for the smaller blade, and not a clip blade like this one is. And I'm going to have an eblade swapped into it, making it into the Apprentice. So it'll only be a bit different than it is right now. Lol.

Agreed, but I guess that's why they call them the blues.  I have one similar and think about using it for the base of a custom job.  That's what should happen to the other one.  Hopefully it will now that it's in Syph's skilled hands.

Elinox marked Pioneer Settler, promotional item for Albany Felts Canada.  Note: Clip Point pen blade was broken, and I reshaped it into more of a spey.  I'm guessing it's at least a few years older than Joe's example. Sure, it's beat to heck, but I really couldn't pass up this one for $15.
