Help me ID my vintage Frost Mora please.
on: June 08, 2015, 02:46:58 AM
Hi everyone.
I just bought this used knife. it is in  good condition.  I would like to know what exact model is it, and how old is it please?

It says Frost Mora Made in Sweden Laminated Steel.
it has a 6 inches ( 151mm) blade and a 4.5 inches (112mm) handle
the handle is wood and the blade stopper looks like brass. the knife end cap looks like aluminium.
the sheath is black leather with a hunter and a rifle in sliver
it has metallic stitching ( non ferrous )

it looks a lot like the ForestExclusive 345 but longer.
w ww.moraofsweden.se/morakniv/jaktkniv-exclusive-345-50.0.194.2

what do you think please ?

if you know the right person or place to ask, please let me know.
thank you
Stef, Montreal.

Sorry to say, i am no expert here. My best bet is what you have already found. Variant of Mora ForestExclusive 345. Maybe as time went on, they desided to shorten the blade. Nowdays it is 127mm long. How long is that blade of yours?

I'm afraid that I can't be much help, other than to comment on the knife itself.

I do like the handle material, the brass hilt, the brass and wood spacers and the aluminum crows beak butt cap.

Altogether a nice looking knife,congratulations.

Heard back from Mora! I had asked for info on three recent Moras in my collection. It applies to your knife as well....

one thing I noticed, on the flyer it says high carbon steel but they don't mention it's laminated...

another question.  can these be send back at Mora for reshaping the blade to almost original shape ? or elsewhere. my knife has a bit of wear in the front and no wear at all on the last inch toward the handle...it shows on the picture.

thanks
Stef
