I e-mailed twice, once from their web site and another time directly. No answer. I called and left a voice message. No call back. Tried again calling, same answering machine.

Looks that Dough may be flooded with e-mails and phone calls about this SAK. So few of them, so many wanting ... :) Well, for one even if I won't manage to get one I'll be happy for the one who will. Good luck everyone!

Same for me. Left a few voice messages and sent a few emails with not even one reply. :-(

I just got through to Doug on the phone and he won't sell more than one per customer because he wants to ensure that all club members have a chance to get one that want to.  He said he would ship (to the UK, that's all I asked, presumably he'll ship anywhere).

He is operating a busy retail store doing brisk Saturday business, I'd give him a call right now if possible.

I spoke with Doug today. First off its not being called a Sea Pioneer. I was also told he would not be taking non-club member orders until all the club members have a chance to get one. I was put on the short list so if any are left I will have a chance to get one, but as of right now they are not for sale to non club members.

Cool model, +1 on seeing pics when any will be available.

Aren't we looking now at each new LE alox like it would be the last one? :)

VSAKS has always had a special place in the Victorinox family and get allowed to get small batches of special models either not done in ages or never done before or after.

Doug owns Freeport knives, so you can contact him there too.

It only took a little persistence to contact Doug and Rhoda and place my order on the 20TH of this month.

You too can be lucky, just call, become a member and place your order.

After e-mails and phone calls without any success (no answer) I could get to talk with Rhonda. My ask was the same: purchase one of these SAKs and also become a member if possible with this occasion. Twice and both times I was told that because I am not an existing member I have to be put on hold (added onto a list and could not place yet the order) until all the longtime standing members get the chance to reply and purchase the SAK if they so desire. This makes fully sense to me, however I am intrigued by folks here saying that they were able to order and apply for membership at the same time. That's exactly what I tried and was denied. Toolguy and others, were you able to actually place the order?  If so...  :-[

I am now a member and have a Sea Pioneer on the way to me thanks again.

Mike, were you able to order the SAK and become a member at the same time? This is what I tried and I was denied. Thanks

Marius, I would have to guess it is because they got in early. Once the flood of calls and emails etc started they most likely decided to stop signing people up and selling to them to give existing members a shot at getting them. Fair call IMO.

I sent many emails very early on and left a few phone messages as well.
Asked to join the club as well. Not one single reply to date.  :(
Maybe there not bothered about serious collectors like me from the UK.
A very poor first experience with them So I'll not bother again in the future.

This may answer what appears to be a mistake concerning the number produced. My first picture didn't capture the correction made in ink.

The listing as 91MM is obviously an error.

Im not going to presume to speak for the owners of this store/VSAKCS but I will relate my experience.I,like others, had sent emails that went unanswered. The second day I called I believe the store had closed but they were still there.Rhoda answered the phone and during the conversation we discovered both of us had known a world famous knife collector who had recently died.I also explained that I have friends in her home town.Perhaps this shared personal experience is the reason that she took my application and order. This is speculation on my part and like I previously stated,I don't presume to speak for the owners.

They're in the midst of reconstructing their website while running a retail business.Maybe they're so busy that they've fallen behind in their responses to emails.I would be patient with these fellow SAK/Victorinox enthusiasts.

Good luck.
