The Forum Search Function Is Driving Me Nuts

How the smurf does this thing work ?! ?!

What's the logic behind the shown results ??

I've been trying to find a thread I saw yesterday for fifteen minutes already. It was a thread where a guy was asking for pictures of ONLY your flashlight, multi and knife.

I type "flashlight knife" in the search field, it gives me a page of crap, no option to sort out the thread titles only. I then type "light knife" because I don't remember if the thread contained FLASHlight in the title or just light. Nothing again, a page of users talking about lights and stuff in various threads. Then I decide to add "multitool" in the search field, too, but it leads to a bigger mess.

So can someone please enlighten me on what the smurf should one do to get the titles only ? Is it possible at all? What's the logic behind the appearing pages of rambling as "result"?? Do the threads where the key words were mentioned last appear first ?!

It's clear that when I type in "tool", I'll get a million pages of people mentioning "tool" every ten words. How to get the damn thing to search titles only? Or anything else?

Am I that dumb or is the search dumber ?!

Or, when I type "Show us your EDC" in the search, because I think THAT was the name of thread, the first result is some thread from Deals and Auctions, where there is USD in the title, holy crap.

Try the advanced search on the top left. Makes it a bit easier.

Go to advanced search, enter "light knife", search order: most recent topics first, options: tick search in topic subjects only, click search.

Third result down, multitool, knife and light picture thread.

also a good way is to type your search string into Google, then add "site:multiool.org". Usually, I then switch to image search because I rather remember images than titles.
