Abandoned RCAF Radar Base
on: June 28, 2015, 06:46:15 PM
We went on an off-roading adventure, and ended it at the Beaverbank Radar Base.  It's a place that I've wanted to go for a while, and was very happy to finally get there!  I didn't climb inside, though a few of the guys did.  Tales say that the place is quite haunted.

Very cool.  :tu:  When I was growing up, there was an abandoned Nike Hercules site nearby, part of the ring of missiles that defended NYC.  We used to hang out there all the time.  The metal doors over the launcher had been slabbed over, but the radar installations were still there, as was the site housing nearby on the appropriately named Nike Road.......

Is this base in Nova Scotia? There are some nike missile sites in the PA area around me. Pretty cool stuff.  :tu:
