Going for Time Lord Level III
on: June 30, 2015, 10:12:54 AM
Here is my current watch collection in its entirety.

Note there are a few numbers on here.

Watch 1: My first watch, it is a Timex that dates to the mid 70's.
Watch 2: A Casio TS-100 World Time Thermometer. I got mine in 89. Prior to this watch, I had a Casio Calculator watch which sadly was lost ages ago. Yes, during my High School days, Casio was the only watch I would wear at the time.
Watch 3: A 1970's something or other. No markings on it other than 28933 hand stamped on the back of the case. This is a red diode watch, and one I wore in the late to early 70's. A precursor to the LCD.
Watch 4: My most EDCed watch, a Casio Pathfinder PAW-1500GB-1 V 5 sensor. This is a do almost everything watch.
Watch 5: A Timex Expedition WS4. This big hunk of a watch is much like my more worn Casio Pathfinder in that it has almost everything, including a weather station with build in weather graphics. Very cool so long as you can get past the big size.
Watch 6: Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angel.
Watch 7: Citizen Skyhawk. Both watch 6 and 7 are neat. Much like the Casio Pathfinder (not an ecodrive as that is what Citizen calls their solar powered watches), these are Ecodrive watches, which means they are operated via solar power.
Watch 8: Along with the watch on the immediate left of the Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angel (A Citizen Ecodrive with square face), are my two in use dress watches. Watch 8 is a Bulova Automatic with exhibition back.
Watch 9: Phillip Crowe Signature pocket watch by Majesti. This is an inexpensive pocket watch that I bought towards my senior high school days. I wore this one for quite a few years. The other pocket watches are quite old. Some of those are from my Great Grandfather or uncle and are more or less family heirlooms, although all but one are in working condition.
Watch 10: A pair of watches that tells the time via a voice chip. I find these interesting and have been known to wear them on occasion.

So there you have it, a few watches of interest from my collection.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the watch above my Timex Expedition WS4 is a special watch that Zed made in somewhat limited numbers. On the back of the case is inscribed: M.T.O A204. This watch is also an automatic, and is worn on occasion.  :tu:

I thought so.. Here's a question for you, since your a watch nut, why is it so hard to find something so simple? I absolutely love the seiko monster, the bezel like rocks. But every dive watch only has markers instead of hour numbers, and on the bezel there's the two diff sizes, the larger one only has like numbers at 3-6-9, unlike the smaller one which has at every five min, so no matter which one it only has one key piece and not all, same with the day and date. If I could get everything all in one package this is what it would look like!

I am not a diver, and must make some guesses here. but I think there aren't numbers much on divers simply because bars are more visible underwater than numbers...and they can glow more due to more surface area. That or it can be simply a style thing. Just guessing here.

Here is a neat little link on how to read bezels...someone might find it of some import and interest.
