What is all this poles and guy ropes and other mumbo jumbo?

I will be asleep by the time you work out which side is the water proof one.



(For people interested in this sort of thing: I have removed the original foam mattress and put in a torso length self inflating one (the brand escapes me at the moment), I have Easton alloy pegs that weigh, as far as I can tell, less than nothing, (the website says 14g, so there you go)
I swap out between sleeping bags depending on where I am going.

Plenty of room to put my pack and rifle in there with me, if I feel so inclined. (Taller people may struggle)
