CyberTool 29
Soldier '61
Alox Classic

If mods and limited stuff counts:
Alox CyberTool 29 with metal file
Alox Alpinist (OHO rescue blade, metal file, wood saw, awl, main blade)
Alox Rambler
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Mod: Rangergrip 90 but without the fat arsed unergonomic scales
Cybertool 41
Climber Small
Manager

I'm struggling to get below these four, but if I had to ditch one of these it would probably be the Rangergrip 90, and the mod would be to take the crappy pliers out of the CT41

Climber Small is not current production. So that would be a mod and is hence "illegal." ;)

So, your choices are:

  • CyberTool 41 modded to remove pliers
  • Climber, (Plus?)
  • Manager

Rambler covers my 58mm needs, the Huntsman is my go-to SAK and a SwissChamp is what I think of when I want a 'do all' SAK.

1.) 84mm Voyager
2.) Midnite Manager
3.) Watchman (mod, Compact with pliers Phillips and electronic Traveller scales)

For practical use, Midnite Manager, Craftsman/Handyman, and Compact or 84mm Golfer.

If plier-based doesn't qualify, I'd take a CT41.

Off the top of my head I am thinking.

1. Farmer

2. CT 41

3. Minichamp

Pretty much covers all the bases.

To stay with the rules I've split the list I have into two.

These are the three I'd love to buy for the collection, not to use.

One of the original 1890s-1950s Swiss Soldier's Knives.  No doubt, a work of art.  Expensive, though.

Various uncommon military issues, most based on the Trekker.

For use:

The original 108mm German Army Knife (1970s-2003) I've been needing a skinnier SAK as since I've started carrying my SAK in my watch pocket on my right side instead of my left front pocket, I've learned the beefier models typically found on me (Craftsman, Fieldmaster) are rather uncomfortable. My Craftsman's so large, I've had to resort to sheath carry. The GAK, despite being only two layers packs the openers and saw (in the same blade/tool!), awl, corkscrew (I don't drink alcohol, but want the corkscrew to cram the eyeglass opener in, even though I get more use out of the Phillips).  In addition, the GAK's saw is supposedly one of the best ever.

Any of the Swiss Tool line.   I'm a big SAK fan, and apparently the Swiss Tools are better than Leathermans.  91mm pliers and wire cutters are too tiny to use for heavy duty work.

The Craftsman--the only one I own.  I have the 1990 and before version, and it's a great SAK, having everything I typically would need. But, the metal file/saw, scissors, and bottom Phillips are better on the currently produced one.  The currently produced one also adds a hook.

Well my two primary SAKs are mods, so I have to choose one of them.

1.  MechaRogue
2.  Minichamp to cover the 58mm
3.  If retired models count, I'd probably go with the Modeler (Explorer with metal file, which is close to my other mod).  If not, then Explorer, or maybe Ranger.
