I would pass it over to my son...in a couple of years. He's not quite seven yet, and I still keep an eye on him when he's handling butter knives...

Frankly, my daughter might end up with it, and she's only four.

I actually bought a similar one to my son, when he was a couple of months old.

Bit of cultural info:

Where I come from, (Mani, Lakonia, Peloponnese, Southern Greece) children would get christened after they had turned 1, due to infant mortality. By that time, somebody (usually parents or godfather) would either stick a knife in the child's bed headboard -if there was a bed- or put a knife under the matress saying "with this you'll walk through life". The knife would stay there until the child picked it up. It was also thought it helped fight nightmares.

I've put a Alox Soldier aside for my little one.

My oldest son (10 years old) is always trying to get a SAK or a multitool out of my collection (even though he already has some of his own ...), and everytime I enter a giveaway here he's trying to persuade me into giving it to him (even before I actually won it). What a great knife. I love the Moras and own a half dozen of them.

I will sit this one out as my boy is not old enough for a knife yet. It sure will make a great knife for a kid to learn on though.
