I have bought several of the 710s, and gifted most of them. I still have a few. I remember a couple of years ago when production stopped and they were going for silly prices, until some more were produced..The reason I do not use it is because it is heavy for a single blade knife. I am also not too keen on all metal knives, for some reason.I find the (composite body) SRM 763 better, as it is lighter, has a better locking mechanism (supposedly stronger but also easier to close without having your fingers in the middle), and has a bottle opener too.Still, the SRM 710 is considered a classic, so many people do like it.
You might want to put a dab on the pivot screw too, mine came undone after a hard day's flicky-OHO practice.
The Sanrenmu 710, which is currently US$12.95 shipped on Amazon Prime, may have the most utility per dollar of any knife. Though there are many other contenders in the budget category, the 710 is hard to beat when cost is factored in.
Any difference in the model number 7010LUC vs just plain 710 ?
