which tools are supposed to be magnetized?

on my rally the philips screwdriver tip isn't magnetized did the magnetism wear off?

Yeah, so far as I know, the Philips combo tool on all 58mm saks is supposed to be magnetic. I have used a Rambler, Manager and Midnight Manager, and all had magnetic Philips tips. You could try taking a strong neodymium magnet and rubbing it back and forth a lot to re-magnetize it.

Also, before you edited the post did you say something about a SAK with a magnetic can opener? That would be most peculiar.

yeah on my old spartan lite the flathead screwdriver tip on the can opener is magnetized but i just got a new super tinker and nothing on it is magnetized

in addition to what the captain said, bear in mind that it is common for knives, tools etc to become slightly magnetic during the manufacturing process. (grinding, being close to powerful magnets etc.)

Many of my knives will pick up metallic items, with no real purpose for doing it.

My Midnite MiniChamp's phillips driver isn't magnetized either. I bought it used though, so I'm not certain how old it is.

As far as I know, all Alox knives from Victorinox are magnetized.

If it is any other tool than the 58mm combo tool, it was likely done mistakenly or on purpose .  I have a pocketknife that was given to me by a friend who did maintenance on underground coal mining machinery, and was thus near or on powerful DC motors. The blade on that knife is magnetized.   I magnetize my fish scalers on purpose, but my mid-1970s Craftsman's fish scaler wasn't magnetized when I got it.
