Bionic Lobster
on: August 06, 2008, 02:29:26 PM
I just checked this out- it's a cool new story about a lobster who loses a claw, but finds a Leatherman Wave to replace it.  He uses it to free his friends from the clutches of an evil seafood restaurant!

Have a look here:

Ugh. Sorry to be the scrooge, but that just seems too goofy. :P

Somehow I just don't see that commercial inspiring folks to go out and buy a new Leatherman.

FYI, the GOOFY is the beauty of it.  Most goofy commercials I've seen, I've remembered.  And those products sell like hotcakes!!

You think that's goofy, search youtube for "koodo", a new cellphone company up here, whose ads was voted most annoying.

Frankly, since this involves rescuing tasty animals, I'm surprised this hasn't gotten the PETA seal of approval??

I haven't felt this motivated  since the marines raised the flag at Iwo Jima

I'll bet many folks thought "Where's the beef?" was one of the dumbest things they ever saw, and yet here we are 20 years later still getting a chuckle out of it.

The most memorable commercial I ever saw was just a plain wooden chair sitting in a plain white room, and the announcer says "If this site causes you to have nightmares, perhaps you need a shrink."  Just as he says the word "shrink" the camera zooms in on the chair, and a disembodied hand slams down a box of Preperation H.  Again, an odd concept, but 20 years later, I'm remembering it.

Different, odd and strange concepts are what works.  Let's see if we remember the Bionic Lobster during our 20 year Multitool.org Anniversary!  :D

I wonder if this had anything to do with where LM got the idea for the Bionic Lobster? :D

I had some trouble downloading the comic too. After a few tries it worked. Not sure why. :P

So on to the real question... are the Swiss Crab and the Bionic Lobster comrads in arms or mortal enemies?
