Vintage Wenger Tahara

So I met a fellow SAK collector today, who showed me one of his rarities. I was already imposing a bit with taking photos, so apologies for the mediocre quality, but with poor lightning, and even poorer skills, that was the best I got.

According to the owner, the scales are plastic and he believes it came out of the factory like this. As he is an expert on knifes I have no reason to doubt that assessment.
My guess its from the 50's and its 82mm but I'm a noob when it comes to vintage Wengers.

Anyone got some information on this model?
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

1940s or '50s?
Never seen swirl celluloid scales on an SAK.   Or back plastic before the 1970s.  Must be a factory defect. Tell your friend I would give him 20 bucks - or my first-born son - for it..
