a keychain tool question
on: July 16, 2015, 05:05:55 PM
recently ive been carrying a leatherman micra on my fishing vest for its small tools to work on my reels and for the scissors to cut the fishing line. recently ive learned that sog makes a similar tool called the crosscut  (yes I know im slow to figure this out).. my question is for people who have a cross cut.. how good are they?? at 12 dollars im thinking of trying one out just to see if its worth a darn. any input would be appreciated

I never had a Micra. I did own a Crosscut though... looks nice and has a amazing scissors, but I wasn't keen on the toothpick and nailfile.

Main thing I'm looking at is I believe I'd rather lose a 12$ sog then my 25$ leatherman

Maybe you can get one for free: GAW
Lynn did a review on the CrossCut and on Scissors

Personally I prefer the CrossCut over the Micra.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

The scissors cut. The other items don't work. You decide.

I would stick with the Micra any day of the week. YMMV.

Interresting. However I don´t understand how some of these results are even possible. She says 58mm SAK is better at heavy plastic than S2 juice. I have both in hand and just cut 10 pcs out of a 9mm zip-tie in 10 seconds with the S2 and the 58mm can´t possibly make a cut and I have really big hands and a pretty high treshold for pain since I lost some sensibilty in the tumb due to a severe frost bite.
Of course you have to keep the scissors sharp and tight without play.
